From Geneva Residences, your home away from home, we bring you this guide to one of the most vibrant events of the summer in Geneva.
On Friday, August 1st, the city celebrates Swiss National Day with a vibrant, free event at Parc La Grange, from 3:00 PM to midnight. Music, art, games, local food and a spirit of community come together in a lively and inclusive atmosphere by the lake.
What to Expect
Live music: from traditional alphorns to DJ sets at night.
Family shows & workshops: participatory art, theatre, pony rides, and sports.
Lantern procession and the traditional feu de joie (bonfire) at 9:30 PM.
Designated area for personal fireworks, but no official fireworks show.
A Celebration with Meaning
This year’s special guest is the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The event embraces values of sustainability, inclusivity, and solidarity, featuring reusable dishware, awareness spaces, and a focus on local producers.
Food & Drink
More than 30 stands will offer Swiss and international dishes, craft beers, and wines from the region. Plus, a free brunch will be offered at Parc des Eaux-Vives in the morning (registration required).
