This weekend, Geneva becomes a meeting point for artists, galleries, collectors, curious visitors and art lovers from around the world.
From 16 to 20 September 2026, Geneva Art Week brings together more than 90 cultural organisations across the city and canton, transforming Geneva into an open-air journey through contemporary art, exhibitions, gallery openings, artist studios and creative encounters. Whether you are passionate about contemporary art or simply looking for a different way to experience Geneva, this is a perfect opportunity to discover another side of the city.

What is Geneva Art Week?

Geneva Art Week is an annual celebration of visual arts and contemporary creation. Now in its third edition, the event connects museums, galleries, foundations, independent art spaces and design venues throughout Geneva. Rather than being concentrated in one location, the programme invites visitors to move around the city and discover different neighbourhoods and artistic spaces. Many exhibitions and openings are free, while some guided tours, studio visits, workshops and talks require advance booking.

Highlights to discover this weekend

🎨Parcours Céramique Carouge

One of the highlights beginning on Saturday 19 September is Parcours Céramique Carouge.
The event brings together more than 90 artists across around 30 venues in Carouge and Geneva, offering visitors the chance to explore contemporary ceramics through exhibitions, demonstrations, talks and workshops. It is a great opportunity to combine art with a walk through the charming streets of Carouge.

🖼️ Explore Geneva's galleries

Geneva's galleries and independent art spaces are at the heart of the week.
The programme includes exhibitions and openings throughout different neighbourhoods, making it possible to create your own art route according to your interests. On Thursday evening, Nuit des Bains invites visitors to explore the famous Quartier des Bains, where galleries and cultural institutions open their doors from 6 pm to 9 pm. The event is free and offers a lively way to experience Geneva's contemporary art scene.

👩‍🎨 Step inside an artist's studio

Curious about what happens before an artwork reaches a gallery?
Geneva Art Week's Studio Visits, taking place from 16 to 20 September, offer visitors the opportunity to enter selected artists' working spaces and discover their creative processes.
It is a more personal way to experience art and meet the people behind the works.

💬 Join an Art Talk

On Saturday 19 September, Geneva Art Week will also host Art Talks at the Bibliothèque de Genève – Bastions.
Starting at 2:30 pm, two discussions will explore Geneva's contemporary art scene, bringing together different voices from the city's artistic and cultural community.

Make art part of your weekend in Geneva

One of the best things about Geneva Art Week is that you don't need to be an art expert to enjoy it.
You can spend the morning exploring galleries, stop for lunch at one of the participating Art Tables restaurants, visit an artist's studio in the afternoon and finish the day at an exhibition opening.

The event's central meeting point is Le Dorian, at Place René-Payot 1, where visitors can take a break, meet other art lovers and continue their Geneva Art Week experience.

Staying in Geneva?

Geneva Art Week is another great reason to explore the city beyond its most famous landmarks.

If you are staying in Geneva or nearby, take advantage of the weekend to discover local galleries, creative neighbourhoods and cultural spaces that you might otherwise miss.

And if you are looking for a comfortable place to stay while exploring the city, Geneva Residences offers furnished apartments designed for short and extended stays, giving you the opportunity to experience Geneva at your own pace.
